Recruitment and Admission to this Training Program:
Pre-doctoral Trainees
Admission to the pre-doctoral program requires successful application and admission to the Division of Medical Sciences Ph.D. programs through the Harvard Medical School. Detailed information on applying to the Immunology or Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) Ph.D. Programs may be found here.
Following admission to the Ph.D. Program, by the end of their first semester at HMS graduate students should begin to focus their training goals and interest in cancer immunology. A Cancer Immunology course taught by the Program Director in the fall of each year is open to first and second year students, and the majority of students participate in this course. Once a student has 1) committed to cancer immunology, 2) completed required laboratory rotations, 3) selected a preceptor from our faculty, and 4) successfully passed the preliminary qualifying exam, he or she will be allowed, on an annual basis, to apply for predoctoral training on this training program. Support may begin after year 2 of a student’s matriculation in the graduate program.
Pre-doctoral candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Appointments to this Training Program are made for a maximum of two years. However, according to Federal guidelines, pre-doctoral trainees may receive a maximum of five years of total support from any NRSA funding mechanism, including other T32 programs or Individual F30/ F31 awards.
Applicants should be nominated by their PI and submit application packets that include the following directly to CITG@DFCI.Harvard.edu:
Post-doctoral Trainees
External Applicants:
External applications for post-doctoral training are accepted on a rolling basis. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents with an MD, PhD, or MD/PhD.
Admission to the program is based on, but not limited to, the following criteria:
While this award will support up to two years of training, Federal guidelines allow postdoctoral trainees a maximum of three years of total support from any NRSA mechanism, including other T32 programs and/or an Individual F32 award.
Applications may be emailed directly to CITG@DFCI.Harvard.edu as a single PDF and should include:
Internal Applicants:
